“Meeting by the Stream”, by Mumbiram, Watercolor, Pune, 1990

Radha and Krishna are meeting at a beautiful spot at a stream. The Gopi named Radha from the Indian ancient scriptures is shown here as an ‘ordinary’ girl that could be anybody. That is so unique about this painting, because traditionally Indian paintings would show stylised Gopis.
